Ring or stick, mild or hot

Rings are the classic horseshoe, the shape most people picture. Sticks are straight and slice into even rounds, which helps when you are lining a pan or a sandwich. Mild is the everyday sucuk: garlic, cumin, salt. Hot adds the red pepper bite. If two people at your table disagree, buy one of each.

How to cook sucuk

Slice it into rounds and put them in a dry pan over medium heat. No oil; the sucuk gives up its own fat. When the edges start to crisp, crack two or three eggs over the top and cover the pan for a minute. That is sucuklu yumurta, sucuk and eggs, the Sunday breakfast in a lot of Turkish homes. Sucuk also goes into a grilled sandwich with a melting cheese, and onto a pide or a flatbread straight from the oven.

The rest of the halal deli

Sucuk sits next to the rest of our halal deli, all of it halal certified:

  • Pastirma, cured dried beef, pre-sliced
  • Beef doner and chicken doner, cooked and sliced, ready to heat
  • Nema Adana kebab, beef and lamb or chicken
  • Merve halal beef franks and Moda halal beef salami
  • Lahmajun with beef

One honest note: we do not run a butcher counter with custom cuts. Our halal meat is deli and packaged. For the full picture, read our guide to buying halal meat near Snohomish.
